Bittersweet Chocolate (Dark Chocolate or Semisweet Chocolate)

The presence of sugar, cocoa butter and chocolate liquor in varying amounts give rise to bittersweet chocolate. Bittersweet and semisweet flavours of chocolates are usually referred to as dark chocolate as a whole. The cocoa liquor without the addition of cocoa butter is what forms dark chocolate.
