As adults we’re more conscious about our health and what we eat, so maybe eating something like BBQ drenshed ribs may not agree with you now. That’s why we found a way to enjoy scrumptious ribs without compromising your health with our Homia appliances especially – Droid air fryer!
Ribs in an air fryer will kill of that excess fats that are not good for your system but don’t take away that classic taste that you love! Any type of ribs like air fryer baby back ribs, air fryer pork ribs and air fryer spare ribs will work for our Homia air fryer.
How long to cook ribs in airfryer? It depends on the size of your ribs, the bigger the rib the longer it will take to cook. Baby back ribs take around 20 minutes in total to cook. However, always have a meat thermometer handy and make sure that your ribs are cooked to 145 degrees F. or higher and avoid any illnesses.
Let’s start with how to cook bbq ribs in an air fryer using baby back ribs with a healthier twist! You’ll need:
Ingredients:
- 2 to 3 pounds baby back ribs
- 32 ounces of your favorite BBQ sauce
- Oregano (optianal), salt and pepper to taste
Instructions:
- Taw the ribs, remove the white membrane, and season with salt, pepper and oregano (optional) to taste.
- Marinade ribs in BBQ (we recommend you use a brand that’s sugar free or low on carbs.) for 10 to 15 min.
- Make sure that Droid air fryer basket is clean, then place your BBQ drowned air fryer ribs into the basket and cook at 390 degrees F. for 10 minutes, then flip them and cook for 7 to 10 more minutes.
NOTE: Make sure that the ribs are o lower than 145 degrees F. on your meat thermometer. This important to avoid getting sick because of uncooked pork!
So, what’s the trick to having delicious yet healthy rib recipe? As always the secret is in the sauce! Technically you can use the same seasoning or rub unless you like an extra spicy recipe, you can red chili flakes to the mix. Even so, everyone knows that what makes or breaks pork rib recipes is the sauce recipes! It’s what makes the “fall of the bone fantastic,” that’s why we collected our favorite sauce recipes to use in one of our favorite homia appliances, the Droid air fryer.
NOTE: We recommend marinating the ribs from 12 to 24 hours for the best flavor!
Let’s start with homemade BBQ sauce recipe with your choice of low carb, or traditional ingredients, you’ll need:
Ingredients:
- 2 cups of homemade tomato sauce or ketchup
- ½ a cup of apple cider vinegar
- ¼ a cup of Stevia sweetener or brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon of salt and pepper
- ¼ a teaspoon of hot sauce optional
Instructions:
- Mix all ingredients in a saucepan on medium heat. Bring to a boil and set the heat to low, let it simmer for 10 min. or until thick.
- Let it cool and serve or refrigerate (It should be good for about a week).

- ½ a cup of honey
- ¼ a cup of soy sauce
- ¼ a cup distilled white vinegar
- 2 minced garlic cloves
- 2 tablespoons of brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon of baking soda
- 1 teaspoon of garlic salt
Instructions:
- Mix all ingredients in a saucepan on medium heat. Bring to a boil and set the heat to low, let it simmer for 10 min. or until thick.
- Let it cool and serve or refrigerate (It should be good for about a week).
Last but not least, homemade teriyaki sauce, nothing better than a spicy yet sweet combination for your taste buds! You’ll need:

- 1 cup of low on salt soy sauce
- 1 cup of low carb. grape juice
- ¼ a cup of hoisin sauce
- 3 tablespoon of ketchup
- 3 tablespoon rice vinegar
- 1 red chile cut in half
- 2 mashed garlic cloves
- 1 piece of fresh ginger (chop into small cubes)

- Mix all ingredients in a saucepan on medium heat. Bring to a boil and set the heat to low, let it simmer for 20 min. or until thick.
